Our company is growing and we have an exciting opportunity for an SMT Operator to join our team to work a monthly rotating roster, including morning (6am - 6pm) and night shifts (6pm - 6am). This also includes weekend work. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Troubleshooting: identify issues, rectify the root cause and implement preventative actions.
  • Operate the machines, which includes understanding the sequence of events, the control panel, and indicators, and understand how to replenish supplies and components (job changeovers) in as short a time as possible.
  • Set-up of the machine, which includes machine adjustments and ability to perform set-up (feeder loading and changing) per work instructions.
  • Proactively check own work to ensure defects do not occur.
  • Verify the work of others as appropriate (e.g. verifying a feeder change).
  • Modify machine programs as required.
  • General machine cleaning and upkeep per the work instructions.
  • To log the time taken for a task against a job.
  • Adherence to company health and safety related policies and procedures
  • Advise Production Supervisor of any issues with the machines.

The Person

  • Have mechanical assembly skills and soldering ability, a working knowledge of equipment used in SMT operation and an understanding of electronics
  • Have good eyesight, hand and finger dexterity and the ability to perform repetitive tasks
  • Computer proficiency and familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet programs
  • A hands on 'can do' approach
